● Things to know before changing a light bulb
When purchasing light bulbs, pay attention to the model numbers, such as H1, H7, H3, H4, 9005, 9006, and other various models. If the model number is incorrect, it cannot be installed, so make sure to match the model number with the bulb. During installation, be careful not to touch the bulb glass directly with your hands, as the oil secreted by your hands may adhere to the glass tube, causing thermal expansion differences on the glass surface and resulting in breakage. If dirt does get on the glass tube, there is no need to panic. Just remember to wipe it clean with a cloth or tissue.
● Things to note before replacement
1. Before replacing the headlights, make sure that the ignition switch and headlight switch are turned off, and also confirm that the bulb has cooled down.
2. Halogen bulbs contain pressurized gas and require special handling. If the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may explode or crack. Therefore, only hold the plastic part or metal box of the bulb, and do not touch the glass part of the bulb.
3. Pay attention to the sealing of the dust shield and the headlight cover during disassembly and assembly. A poorly sealed dust shield can easily allow dust to enter, while a poorly sealed headlight cover can easily allow water to enter the headlight. Additionally, when the vehicle is driven in rainy weather or the headlight cover is wet after washing the car, the inside of the headlight cover of external lights such as headlights may temporarily fog up. Just like the windshield fogging up in rainy weather, this fogging is caused by the temperature difference between the inside and outside of the headlight cover and is not a fault in itself. However, if there are large water droplets on the inside of the headlight cover or water accumulation on the inside of the headlight, it is necessary to contact the dealership. Otherwise, there is a high risk of causing the bulb to break.
● Installation steps
1 First, turn off the ignition switch completely
2 Unscrew the headlight waterproof cover
3 Remove the socket and disengage the retaining clip (press down on the retaining clip and apply force to the left to disengage it)
4 Be careful not to touch the glass part of the new bulb with your hands! If there are stains on the surface of the weak bulb shell, you can wipe them off with a soft cloth. Make sure to keep the surface of the bulb shell clean
5 Fix the new bulb inside the reflector, secure it with a circlip, plug in the bulb power supply, tighten the waterproof cover, and the installation is complete
